UPCOMING EVENTS

The international Interbio workshop ‘Two faces of Science Communication” took place at the Instituto de Tecnologia Química e Biológica (ITQB) on March 19-23 2012. In the unique setting of the town of Oeiras, located at the Tagus river mouth and the Estoril beach coast, just outside Lisbon, this practical workshop aimed at helping researchers to develop their communication skills and get them acquainted with examples of science outreach activities they can engage with.

Workshop objective

This 5-days workshop proposed to address both faces of scientific communication, to peers and to lay audiences, focusing on the role of researchers in the process.

Target audience

This workshop was targeted to researchers willing to develop their communication skills both when dealing with their peers and when talking to the public. The event was free for INTERBIO participants but limited to 6 candidates per node (LISBON, TOULOUSE, VALENCIA, BARCELONA, BORDEAUX) due to its practical nature.  Travel and living expenses were covered by each respective node.
