StatHTG - Statistical Analysis of High Throughput Post-Genomic Data in Toulouse

Interbio platforms Training course

Under the auspices of the GENOTOUL Bioinformatics and Biostatistics platforms, the Interbio project organizes a training course for biologists. This set of courses is meant for users of statistics (researchers, engineers, technicians, PhD students) with or without skills in mathematics, but who would like to perform (almost) by themselves the analysis of their data. The course includes 3 modules, from basic to advanced statistics, so that  biologists with preliminary expertise in statistics may apply only for the second and third modules, or only for the third module. The number of persons per module is limited to 10.

-         Module1: Initiation to statistics(December 6-8, 2011) : exploratory statistics, inference, tests,…

                                REGISTRATION CLOSED

-         Module2: Basic statistics(January 24-27, 2012): principal components analysis, analysis of variance, classification, case studies, …

                               Registration deadline: December 16, 2011

-         Module 3: Advanced statistics(March 5-9, 2012): machine learning, networks, variable selection, mixed linear model, PLS, canonical analysis, ...

                              Registration deadline: January 26, 2012

Practical information:

The number of trainees is limited to 10 per session. Depending on the number of applicants, second sessions could be organized.

Each session includes lectures in the morning, and practice in the afternoon (using the R language).

Biologists with preliminary expertise in statistics may apply only for the second and third modules, or only for the third module.

Training sessions will take place at the Auzeville Campus of INRA Toulouse Research Centre, (http://www.toulouse.inra.fr/infos_pratiques/les_campus_du_centre/auzeville)
