High-Throughput Screening of one-bead/one-compound (OBOC) foldamer libraries against protein targets
Perspectives of extension of this common project to a more ambitious proposal to be submitted to funding agencies : Short term Added value of the cooperation : Neil Owens is a post-doctoral fellow developing one-bead/one compound (OBOC) foldamer libraries in the group of Dr. Gilles Guichard at the European Institute of Chemistry and Biology (IECB). The host group in Barcelona led by Prof. Fernando Albericio has developed strong expertise in high-throughput screening of on-bead peptide libraries. The project is based on the combination of the two expertises and will, if successful, lead to a wider scale collaborative project between the IECB in Bordeaux and the Parc Cientific Barcelona.
Summary of the proposal :
The aim of this project is to evaluate the possibility to screen on-bead libraries of helical peptidomimetic foldamers for binding to receptors of the tumour necrosis factor receptor (TNFR) family by using a fluorescence-activated cell sorter.
