Gross salary 32,000 euro/year.
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position in the field of synthetic organic chemistry on an ANR-white program funded project. This project associates one team of organic chemists in Toulouse and a team of structural biologists at Pasteur Institute in Paris (Dr D. Gopaul. Dept. Structural Biologie and Chemistry, URA CNRS 2185, 25 Rue du Docteur Roux, F-75724, Paris CEDEX 15). The position is available for initially one year (with funding for two more years), starting on the 1st of January 2012 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The aim of the project (Modulation of Integrase Activity by Means of Conformationally Constrained Nucleotides) is to develop constrained dinucleotides units to control the shape and structure of nucleic acids in order to modulate theirs interactions with proteins. The strategy is based on the introduction on the sugar/phosphate backbone of cyclic phosphotriester that result on determined torsional angles values set.
Appropriate background should include experience in multi-step synthesis and associated analytical and purification methodologies. The successful candidate will ideally have worked on the field of nucleoside/nucleotide chemistry and have a good experience in automated oligonucleotide synthesis, purification and analysis.
The position is opened to all nationalities and gender. Laboratory is located in the campus of Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse, south west of France. It is particularly well equipped with technical apparatus dedicated to nucleotides/oligonucleotides synthesis and analysis (MS, analytical and preparative HPLC, UPLC, UV/Fluo, CD, ODN synthesizer, etc).
