The Prince Felipe Research Center organizes a post-doctoral fellowship in Molecular Genetics Laboratory. The research is led by Dr. M. Eugenia Armengod, and focuses on the modification of RNA and human disease.
The candidate should have a Ph.D. in Biology, Biochemistry or equivalent, a minimum of 4 years experience in Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology; good working knowledge of the technologies of DNA and RNA, genetic engineering, basic microbiology, purification of proteins and enzymology. Candidates should also be familiar with basic skills in bioinformatics and cell culture.
The chosen candidate's role will include biochemistry, structural and functional characterization of proteins in the modification of tRNA that play a role in mitochondrial dysfunction associated with various human diseases.
