Labplayer: An innovative technology using conventional optical discs as biochemical analyzers |

|
Labplayer uses compact discs and CD players to develop biochemical analyzers. This technology is especially useful for applications requiring high sensibility, work capacity and fast response out of the laboratory. Some applications currently developed using Labplayer include methodologies for the determination of contaminant residues, toxins (microcystines), virus, pathogens, cancer biomarkers and transgenics with results similar to that obtained with reference methods. Labplayer is easy handling, only let the sample (one drop is enough) on the disc modified with specific bioreceptors is necessary and within a few minutes the results are read and displayed through a conventional CD player. Due to its technical characteristics, Labplayer represents an advance that moves the analysis traditionally performed in the laboratory to the point of need - including houses – in real time and with very competitive prices. The technology and the most representative applications are available for their use in several fields of interest.
