At the Interbio International Meeting: Research to Business in Health Sciences and Tehcnologies
On Friday, 18 November at 11am, will take place in the international event “Research to Business in Health Sciences and Technologies”, in the framework of the European project Interbio, a session entitled: “Technology Offers: Presentation of the best offers from Interbio Network”. In an increasingly competitive environment, Interbio provides a unique opportunity to join forces and to develop initiatives that may provide South-West European countries with a leading edge in the world of knowledge and technology transfer. The purpose of this session is to facilitate technology transfer from universities and research centers to companies.
Scientists, students, engineers and companies from the Toulouse, Barcelona, Valencia, Lisbon and Bordeaux regions are invited to participate in this interdisciplinary network. The session “Technology Offers” is aimed at peopleworking in different fields of biology and health, with special focus in the areas of ICT for Health, Genetics, and Oncology drug discovery. Researchers, technology companies, industries and the best Technology Transfer Offices (TTO) from the Interbio community will meet there. Each TTO has selected the two best technology offers, which will be presented during this session to the participating companies.
Technology transfer projects boost the competition and economic benefits of institutions and organizations. This session will be a chance for business groups in the areas of health sciences and technologies that can recognize business, create them or act upon them. It will allow the companies to create new business relationships and generate business opportunities at the same time. With all this, the intention is to establish collaborations for technology transfer and to promote the development and growth of the sector of the health sciences through the access to knowledge and to the experience of groups who work on research, innovation and technological development.
Presentations will be exposed in elevator pitchformat. It will be explained, briefly, everything about a technology offer to anyone there, whether investors, businessmen, shareholders, customers, etc. It will be done a description of each problem that the technology offer is solving, as well as the technologies that already exist and are used to give solution to that problem. It will be described too, how the problem is solved by the technological offer presented, as well as the originality and innovation of the offer and its advantages. Additionally, it will be answered how to protect the technology offer through patents national, international, and it will be explained the collaboration proposed scheme.
The sessionwill be moderated by Mr. Alain-Michel Boudet, Interbio Director and Mr. Ijsbrand Kramer and Interbio Coordinator for Collaborative Research. The speakers will attend next session (the same day) the Roundtable between TTOs and companies, in which the companies will talk about success stories of collaboration with research centers or about their expectations when a researcher presents a technological offer.
