MetaToul (www.metatoul.fr) is the Metabolomics & Fluxomics Platform of Toulouse. It provides large-scale facilities (NMR & MS equipments), tools, and expertise to support scientists from public laboratories or private companies whose projects require in-depth investigations of metabolism, its regulation or its engineering, within two main scientific areas:
-
microbiology (fundamental, industrial)
-
host-microorganisms interactions - human health (and food security)
Using state-of-the art MS & NMR methods, METATOUL allows getting a detailed picture of metabolomes and their response to genetic or environmental changes, to support functional genomics or systems biology projects with main applications in microbial metabolism & physiology, biotechnology (metabolic engineering, synthetic biology, enzyme engineering), plant-microorganism interactions, microbial pathogenesis and link between metabolism and virulence.
METATOUL particularly develops methods to measure qualitatively and quantitatively the metabolism response to genetic or environmental disruptions across the considered biological system (cell, tissue, whole organism). All the data generated by METATOUL are post-treated using modeling approaches with a strong emphasis on network oriented ones.
METATOUL offers a wide range of activities & services, including: global & targeted metabolomics, metabolic fingerpriniting & profiling, lipidomics, quantitative metabolomics, fluxomics & metabolic network modelling, training.
All the services provided by METATOUL are open to public laboratories and private companies from the Interbio community.
